Candle Care Guide

We want your candles to look good, smell amazing, and last as long as possible. Here are a few tips to get the best burn out of every drop of wax.

1. The Golden Rule: Trim Your Wick ✂️

Before every single burn (yes, even the first one), trim your wick to 5mm.

  • Why? A long wick creates a high flame, smoking, and soot. Keeping it short ensures a clean, steady glow.

  • Tip: If you don't have a wick trimmer, a pair of nail clippers works perfectly!

2. For Our Jar Candles (Lattes, Florals, & all other candles with jars)

  • The First Burn Matters: When you light your jar for the first time, let it burn until the wax melts all the way to the edges of the glass. This creates a "memory ring." If you blow it out too early, the candle will "tunnel" down the middle and you'll waste wax on the sides.

  • Don't Burn Too Long: We recommend burning for no more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Stop When Low: Discontinue use when there is about 10mm of wax remaining at the bottom to prevent the glass from overheating.

3. For Sculptural Candles (Christmas Trees, Shapes &other candles with no jars)

When lighting the Sculptural Candles

  • Use a Coaster: Crucial! Unlike jars, structural wax has nowhere to go when it melts. You must place these candles on a heat-resistant tray or plate to catch the dripping wax.

  • Watch the Flow: These candles have a mind of their own. The wax will drip and create beautiful, unique pools.

  • Hug the Edges: If the walls become too thin, you can gently "hug" (push) the soft wax edges inward towards the flame to help it burn evenly (be careful not to burn your fingers!).

4. Safety First (The Serious Stuff) 🚫

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and air currents.

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

  • Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

  • Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquefied.
